Pretty good week

Supprisingly, this week has not been the train wreck it could have been. Had my interview on Tuesday and i believe it went well (fingers crossed). When i got back to work the local manager and the state manager (who just happened to be here that day) dragged me into the office and gave me a 3.5 grand pay rise XD. I dont even have the other job yet, but pay rise effective immediatlly. So that was sweet, cause even if i dont get the job i scored something.

Got a phone call from my cousin last night. She is in town and wanting to get together. She is one of the cousins i really like so it was great to hear from her. We are having lunch together today and will get together sometime this Easter weekend.

Oh and adding to the yayness... EASTER 4 DAY WEEKEND!!!!!
*cartwheels all over the place*
oops.... *runs to put knickers on*

Also making with the shiny is that iv booked and paid for all my tickets now. Which still makes my tummy tumble when i think about it. No turning back now... and everyone is talking about getting tattoos O.O
Ok so iv always "wanted" a tattoo... but there is a reason why i dont "have" a tattoo. Mainly cause im a big chicken
*bok bok bok*

And finally i got a phone call from my dad last night. He has been going through the application process for QLD education to become a Teacher for new trainee electricians. They offered him a position yesterday :D
My dad is in his early 50's and it was something i was starting to worry about, because i see men like him every day come through my office. Turffed out of their trade positions due to being too old or the body not being able to hack it anymore. They have nothing to fall back on and its such a blow to their pride, cause these are men who are use to making lots of money and being respected in their fields. So now that he is accepted for this position it means he is in a job he can work until he is ready to retire. The job security and benefits package for gov. jobs is one of the best around. And the extra super being contributed means a better nest egg when they retire. All in all its a great thing.

Ok, back to the grind. The faster today is over the quicker my long weekend starts :D
YAAAAY for the dead and risen.

This is my word of choice to describe my trip to Singapore. Here it is in all its glory. Hope you enjoy.

Left Australia around midnight on friday 9/03 and arrived in Singapore at 5.30am (7.30 our time) Checked into the hotel, which was just mind blowing with its rich timber and black marbel. Went up into our rooms (we each got our own rooms so that was a suprice) and they were just lush!!! King size bed, slate top desk and counters, gorgeous bathroom with huge shower and bath tub. It was GREAT!!!
We got cleaned up and went down stairs for a light breakfast at 8.30... thats right, no sleep just yet. Had a motivational speaker who ranted and raved from 10, but before that we got to see a traditional lion dance which was wonderful. I just wanted to reach out and cuddle those adorable fluffy heads. Lunch time rocked around and we got to see the resturant where we would be taking most of our meals. OMG it was HARDCORE!!!
4 different buffet stations, one with indian, one with malaysian, one with chinese and one with japanese. There was a sushi chef there making fresh sushi while you waited, plus the most amazing desert bar iv every seen, with little tiny deserts made up (yes i put on weight). The service there was also amazing. All these people running around just waiting to do your bidding. The waiter for our table actually said "your wish is my command ladies" We almost fell over from the giddy rush :)
After lunch was shopping, and we decided to hit china town first. We went in 2 cabs and somehow got split up. Our cab took us to this department store wich had "china town" on the front of it. It was surrounded by open air markets as well as stores inside the plaza. We did a couple of hours shopping there and then headed back to the hotel where we met up with the other half of our group. Turns out they had gone to the "real" china town, with all the open air markets and hawkers and such. They had found some awsome bargans so we all decided that we would go back on sunday to see what the others had seen.
We got ready for dinner (yes, no sleep yet) and were all piled onto a bus for Clark Quey. Clark Quey is a trendy strip found along the Sinapore river. It is populated with resturants and night clubs and caters mostly to the tourists. Our dinner was at one of the seafood resturants there overlooking the water. Was very pretty, but due to my allergy to shell fish, i was not able to eat much. After dinner our group had planned to visit Mufasas!!! Which just happens to be a 24h shopping centre in the heart of "Little India". God what a cultural experience that was. I truly believe that little india is just like the big india, with all the hussell and bussell and beeping cars and people everywhere. It was amazing to see. We shopped until about 1am and then caught cabs home. Needless to say i died as soon as my head hit my fluffy pillow.

Woke up Saturday morning with a very very bad stomach ache. I thought maybe it was just because i was hungry due to not eating much for dinner, but it just got worse and worse. I started shaking and couldnt stop, so i decided to try and have something to eat to see if it went away. I went down for breakfast and only got through part of my cerial before i had to throw it up. The rest of that mornings breakfast consisted of 2 pcs of dry white breat and 3 crackers. The shakes stopped but the pain didnt. Feeling sorry for myself i crawled back to my room and curled up for a couple of hours. Due to this i missed the second work speaker (damn :P) and half of lunch. I decided i was not going to waist a whole day in my room, no matter how dead i felt, so i draged myself up at around 12.30 and went to try and eat something. I was able to keep down some boiled rice and a few slices of roast beef. Then it was off to Orchard Rd for some more shopping. Orchard Rd is the yuppie shopping centre of Singapore. Great place to window shop, but unless you have some serious cash its not the place for you. Beautiful sidewalks and works of art do await you on Orchard Rd and i would still recommend it for the sights. I could not get over how CLEAN Singapore is. There are people sweeping up constantly, and its just so lovely with all the trees and the green.
After shopping was dinner again, this time at the china club. A very prestigious private club located on the top floor of the Bankers Building. It is a breath taking view of the city from up there, and the decore is devine. We were all dressed very elegantly for the occasion, and had our names written on red fans in chinese characters. The only down side to the night was the menue work had organised, Seafood again! (honestly, who plans 2 seafood menues one after another)So again i was left chewing on the table cloth, but they did have an amazing desert of mango ice cream and cream served in a green coconut. I enjoyed that waaaaaaay too much.
After dinner my manager and i decided that going back to the hotel would be a waist of our finery, so we hit the clubs. Went to this awsome place called the "Power House". It use to be a power station but was converted into a place with 9 different clubs. You pay one entry fee and then can visit any of the 9 clubs in the building. And each one has a different theme and style of music. There was country and karaoke and RnB and techno and top 40 and rock and lots lots more. It was fantastic and i highly recomend it to anyone who is visiting. Had a ball!!!
When i got back to the hotel i was still a little pumped so i had a nice shower and re-packed my suitcase for the trip home. At about 3pm i passed out in my king size bed :D

Sunday morning rocked around and was up at 7. Went down for breakfast with the group and then we were off to China town again to catch up on the shopping we missed the first time. The outdoor markets were AMAZING. I could have spent days there just haggling over bargans. This was where i brough most of my stuff. And i shopped so hard i almost collapsed because i forgot to eat. McDonalds came to the rescue tho (didnt trust anything else with my stomach). After lunch we went back to Mustafas and picked up a few things we missed on the first run, then we went to "Far East" shopping centre where we found more bargans in a more department store setting.
Finally we collapsed back at the hotel, just in time to sit down for dinner. We all enjoyed a wonderful meal and proceeded to get ready to leave this wonderful place.
The busses arrived to take us to the airport at 8pm and we all said our final goodbys to this wonderful experience.

Singapore would have never been on my list of places to visit, but now i deffinatly want to go back. Due to the short time frame i was unable to take in much apart from the shopping, but there is so much more. And there was not one time when i felt unsafe or unwelcome. I give Singapore two big thumbs up and look forward to returning soon.

Always Something

I tried to have a talk with Maurice last night. I told him i wanted to talk and we sat down at the kitchen table (why was just that part so damn hard? )
Then his phone rang...
It was his mother. She has quit her very awsome job and was threatening to commit suicide again. Maurice spent 2 hours on the phone to her. And then after him and i had an arguement because i was not being "supportive" enough about her and that i turn everything about her into a negative. Maybe i do, but thats only because i have no pitty for her. Because thats what she wants from everyone. The attention is what she craves and she does not care how she gets it. Why else would a mother take an overdose while she is sitting there in front of her son (i still cant forgive her for that).
Sometimes i just wish i could grab her and shake her and yell at her to grow up and stop making herself the victim. -sigh- anyway, guess the point of the story was that we did not get to have "our" talk.

Im so tired...

Iv decided that men are fools...
None of them can ever see whats right there in front of their face. And they do the most stupid things and then expect those who love them to just stand around and take it. Nothing like being "old dependable"
Part of the furniture which will always be there, like a comfy chair. You dont need to worry about her feelings or what she thinks cause she has taken it in the past, so whats going to be different this time.
Women are just as bad cause we do take it. Instead of standing up and saying "hey i matter" we just smile and say "well maybe next time it will be different"
Bollocks!
Its never different and it will never change until you walk out the door. And by then its too late.
This little black duck is sick of being put last. What makes it worse is that im always being told how wonderful and great i am, but does it make a difference??? NO of course not, why would it matter that im a good person who is loyal and loves with all her heart. Im still just me, still just part of the furniture, still not worth coming first.

Well from now on this girl comes first. Everyone else can get in line, cause there is no way im waisting myself on any more men who dont care enough about me. I dont care even if i become a cold hearted bitch who ends up alone, because being a decent human being has gotten me no where. And any of my fellow girlfriends who read this, i suggest you take the same road, because we are all too precious to put up with this crap.

I do matter... and damn it i deserve to be loved. No matter what anyone else thinks.

Signs and Omens

ok, see if you can nut this one out

Last night M woke up to hear something banging. He was not sure what it was and got up to investigate. He relised that it was actually something baning against our bedroom door so he opened it up. He could see a shadowy lump on the floor in front of the door and he turned the hall light on.
It was a toad...

It had been repeatedly jumping into our bedroom door, for god knows how long.
M checked the house but it was sealed up tight, and the toad did not look wet like it had come out of the pipes or anything.

so..... omen? or am i just seeing nasty where there is just a lonely toad?

Interesting

You scored as Idealist. Idealism centers around the belief that we are moving towards something greater. An odd mix of evolutionist and spiritualist, you see the divine within ourselves, waiting to emerge over time. Many religious traditions express how the divine spirit lost its identity, thus creating our world of turmoil, but in time it will find itself and all things will again become one.

Idealist

81%

Cultural Creative

75%

Existentialist

56%

Postmodernist

56%

Romanticist

44%

Materialist

38%

Modernist

31%

Fundamentalist

31%

</td>

What is Your World View?
created with QuizFarm.com
